Amerind Foundation (< website link) is located in Texas Canyon about an hour east of Tucson just off Interstate Highway 10 near the small town of Dragoon. The foundation was founded in 1937 by William Fulton as a private non-profit archaeological research center to conserve and educate about artifacts of Native Americans. It has a very large collection. Various special exhibits are also often presented. The museum has a gift shop offering native crafts at good prices.

Texas Canyon is a vista of huge boulders as seen at left example.

Tour Itinerary - Normally afternoon, but other time by arrangement. 1 hour travel from Tucson, 2-3 hours at museum depending on interests of guests, 1 hour travel back to Tucson. Guests pay their own admission: $10 adults, $9 seniors and college students, $8 children 10-17, younger free. Museum is open 10-4.
